Automatic Gates
Sliding, swing and cantilever gates plus automation and access control, supplied, installed, maintained and repaired.

Commercial automatic gates
Secure access that keeps moving
Automatic gates secure a site perimeter while keeping vehicles and people moving. Avanti Doors supplies, installs, automates, services and repairs sliding, swing and cantilever gates for commercial yards, car parks, distribution depots and managed estates across the UK from our Norfolk base.
What we install
Automatic gate systems
Each system has its own page covering where it fits, how it is specified and the projects behind it.

Sliding Gates
Space-saving powered gates for yards, depots and busy vehicle entrances.

Swing Gates
Powered single or double-leaf gates for controlled site and car-park access.

Cantilever Gates
Track-free sliding gates that clear uneven ground and heavy-duty spans.

Automation & Access Control
Motors, intercoms, keypads and fobs to control who comes and goes.
Choosing a system
The opening and the ground pick the gate
Sliding and cantilever gates close wide, busy entrances with one leaf along the fence line, tracked where the surface is sound, cantilever where it is not, and bi-folding where run-back space is tight, as with the D6500 gates we installed at Shurgard Wandsworth. Swing gates keep the frontage a site already has, automated with ram, arm or underground operators.
Behind every leaf sits the automation and access-control layer, motors, intercoms, fobs, ANPR and app-based credentials deciding who the gate opens for. Whichever combination the survey points to, the entrance is commissioned as one machine, force-tested to EN 12453 by Gate Safe qualified engineers, and supported with planned maintenance and reactive repair afterwards.

Common questions
Automatic gate FAQs
Quick answers for site, estates and facilities teams planning gate work.
1Sliding, cantilever or swing, which gate does our entrance need?
Wide, busy vehicle entrances usually take a sliding gate; poor or uneven ground across the opening points to a cantilever; frontages with space for the arc and an appearance to keep suit swing gates. Where run-back space is tight, bi-folding gates recover it, as at Shurgard's Wandsworth site. The survey settles it from the opening, the ground and the traffic.
2Can you automate or repair gates you didn't install?
Yes, automating sound existing gates and repairing other installers' automation is everyday work, from replacement motors and controllers to full mechanical overhauls like the sliding-gate job in South London.
3What safety standards apply to automatic gates?
Powered gates are workplace machinery: EN 12453 sets the safety-in-use requirements, protected crush and shear points, photocells, force limitation, emergency release, and HSE guidance expects competent installation and maintained records. Forces are measured at commissioning and rechecked at services. Our engineers hold Gate Safe qualifications and Avanti Doors is a DHF member.
4What areas do you cover?
East Anglia, London and the wider UK, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex through to London and the home counties. Documented gate work includes Wandsworth and South London.
